Working With Autism, from the Administrators to the In Home ABA Team, provided my family with such phenomenal training that I hold every other Autism Intervention program to meet the level of expertise we received in our 3 years as clients of WWA. Jennifer, Kelly and Ashley, the In-Home Therapists, arrived on-time and brought order to our family’s operational system. Before WWA, we had no order. They recognized the need of my youngest son Bakary, Non-verbal and extremely energetic, who they worked with several days a week and his brother Carter – my older son who is verbal and diagnosed with ASD as well. They helped Carter understand Bakary’s modes of communication. We learned sooooooo much!
WWA PEC-ed our home – walls, the refrigerator, cabinets, the front door – and a book was created! They also helped Bakary’s Teachers provide a PECs schedule creating routines that matched our home system. Any problem I happened to ponder out-loud, these Therapists became eager to set up a way for me manage the challenge. Before WWA Bakary would not sit at the table to eat. He now sits, uses a napkin and utensils with great pride.
Honestly, I wasn’t mentally capable to be empowered in the ABA techniques when Working With Autism came into our lives. These Professionals were very sensitive yet firm in the belief that real change occurred only when the Parent utilized the methods, consistently. I was pretty lost. Recently divorced and choosing the lifestyle of an At-Home-Mom I lived solely on SSI Benefits and Calworks. I just wanted help. WWA was that divine blessing I had prayed for. Eventually, I got with the program. I apply what they taught me everyday. I also use it to train other people who come to work in our home 😉
